Courageous Creating: Giving Birth
to the Artist You Are

humankind in God's image, In the image of God, they were created.
Male and female God created them. And God blessed them….."
Join us as we explore ways through
which the divine gift of creating is nurtured: When we ask God how we can
give these gifts new life, God's answer is always the same: "Follow
me. Dare to become and be. Delight in me, and I will give you the desires
of your heart."
That command is the foundation upon which we will build this week-end. Some
of us are accomplished artists whose work is our livelihood; others
dabble in the arts, or practice our craft on a non professional basis.
There are those, too, whose gifts of creation lie hidden within them,
unknown or unable to find expression. Regardless of how we see ourselves,
we will come together this week-end to let something new be birthed through
us that expresses the artists we are.
Friday and Saturday, we will discover ways of hushing our busy minds and
letting God speak to our ability to create. We will explore our wild and
tame selves, our blocks, our flows. We will have working periods of creating
with words, notes, lines, clay, color, song, and dance. We will support one
another to take risks and explore the joy and terror of creating.
There will be time, too, to rest, dream, and enjoy the Wellspring grounds.
On Sunday, we will come together and offer ourselves and our creations back
to God. Finally, we hope that on Monday you will find new ways to continue
"giving birth to the artist you are."
Who Should Come? Accomplished and amateur artists, and those whose gifts lie hidden within them waiting to be birthed!
